Contract 2022-2025
CBA Ratified 2023, Effective: 2022-2025
Our second contract was ratified on March 20, 2023. After a historic two-day strike in February 2023, and a marathon open bargaining session lasting until minutes to midnight on March 14, 2023 when the Bargaining Committee and Management finally reached a tentative agreement, members overwhelmingly voted to approve our second Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Contract 2020-2022
CBA Ratified 2020, Effective: 2020-2022
Our first contract expired on June 30, 2022. In our first session of the 2022-2023 bargaining season, we (the Union & Management) agreed to extend the contract to September 30, 2022.
MOU on Salary Re-Opener, Effective: 07/01/2021
As our first contract was negotiated and ratified in the tumultuous first year of the COVID-19 pandemic, we agreed to a salary re-opener one year after ratification.
MOA on CBA Extension, Effective 07/01/2022 - EXPIRES 9/30/2022
This is the Memorandum of Agreement between the Union & Management that our contract would be extended through September 30, 2022. We did not reach tentative agreements regarding many of our top issues, including salary & healthcare, workload, and hybrid work by that date, so we did not opt to extend a second time. Most provisions in the contract continued, but notably, the No Strike provision was no longer in effect. A Better NYLAG members went on strike in February 2023, to show Management the power lies with the workers, and we refused to settle for an unfair contract.
